The Call of the Wild really lives up to its name. Will they succeed? I recommend this book to people who like adventure. Then one day he is rescued by men who try to make him friendly again. When the Indians moved to a fort made by white people to get rich, White Fang is sold to a man who abuses him and makes him fight other dogs.

This made him sneaky and and a wonderful fighter. In his time with the Indians he is chased ruthlessly by the other dogs living with him. It is about a wolf cub born wild but raised by Indians. I gave this book 4 stars because it didn't really grab my attention there wasn't much action. Worst of all the captain of the ship is still alive and on board. When he finally escapes,(with a girl!) the boat that he had escaped from becomes stranded on the island the HE had become stuck on. The next story,The Sea Wolf is about a man who is taken aboard a ship with a horrible captain and is forced to work. Then, when he finally is given to an owner he loves and trusts, disaster happens. The first story, The Call of the Wild, is about a dog named Buck who is taken from his home and shipped to Alaska where he overcomes many hardships and becomes leader of the sled dog pack he lives with. The buildings and property were later preserved as Jack London State Historic Park, in Glen Ellen, California. London's ashes were buried on his property, not far from the Wolf House. London died November 22, 1916, in a sleeping porch in a cottage on his ranch.

He wrote several works dealing with these topics, such as his dystopian novel, The Iron Heel, his non-fiction exposé The People of the Abyss, War of the Classes, and Before Adam. London was part of the radical literary group, "The Crowd," in San Francisco and a passionate advocate of unionization, workers' rights, and socialism. He also wrote about the South Pacific in stories such as "The Pearls of Parlay", and "The Heathen". His most famous works include The Call of the Wild and White Fang, both set in the Klondike Gold Rush, as well as the short stories, "To Build a Fire", "An Odyssey of the North", and "Love of Life". He was also an innovator in the genre that would later become known as science fiction. A pioneer of commercial fiction and American magazines, he was one of the first American authors to become an international celebrity and earn a large fortune from writing. John Griffith Chaney (1876-1916), better known as Jack London, was an American novelist, journalist, and social activist.
