And it is romantic – in books, I can only imagine the horror of it actually happening RL. Being on the run with only the clothes on your back is always portrayed as this romantic plotline in books, having only each other to count on, and so forth. No, for the most part it was about Jonah and Ben finding their way back to each other – while on the run from the law that wanted to separate them for a variety of reasons. Unlike the other books set in this universe there’s no big bad to battle, no murderous plot to stop. I wanted him to have his happily ever after, wanted him to make up with Ben. I’m not making excuses for him, but I did not want to see him jailed or worse. But as the book went on, the more I saw what he hid deep down.
I had a few bones to pick with him for the trouble he caused in the past. Like Ben, I wasn’t all that fond of Jonah when this book started. It’s clear that they both have deep feelings for each other, but they have so much hurt between them as well.
